    North American Van Lines Logistic Scholarship $1,000: Deadline December 15, 2019
    To be eligible, the graduate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. They need to be enrolling as a full-time student at an accredited college/university within the U.S. for an undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field.
     
    GenM Scholarship $5,000: Deadline December 31, 2019
    The applicant must be a resident of the U.S.  Please see the website for more details.
     
    CC Bank's Young Scholars Scholarship $2,000: Deadline December 31, 2019
    The student must be a U.S. resident with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
     
    Pennsylvania Chafee Education Training and Grant Program $5,000: Deadline December 31, 2019
    This grant is for students that are aging out of the foster system and will be attending a post-secondary institute in 2020. Please click the link above for more details.
     
    DialMyCalls School System Notification Scholarship $1,000: Deadline January 8, 2020
    Applicants must be a legal resident of the USA and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.
     
    Pennsylvania American Legion 85th Annual Essay Contest $3,500: Deadline January 17, 2020
    Students in grades 9-12 write an essay on "Does the US Military receive the respect they deserve?"  Essays should be between 500-1,000 words and MUST be prepared without assistance.  The winner must be available to attend their program.  See the brochure for more details.  
     
    The Violet Richarson Award Program $500: Deadline January 31, 2020
    This award recognizes young women who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts.  The applicant must be between the ages of 14-17 and volunteer within their community.  $500 is awarded to the winner and an additional $500 for the organization where she volunteers.  Please download an application with the link above or stop in the guidance office to pick one up from Mrs. Minium.
     
    Virginia Military Institute Scholarship Program $5,000 per academic year including the full cost of tuition and fees: Deadline: February 1, 2020
    If interested in attending Virginia Military Institute, full and partial scholarships are available to members of the matriculating class each year to cover the cost of tuition and fees for up to eight semesters of full-time study at VMI.  Click the link for more information and to apply. 
     
    The Foundation for Enhancing Communities
    This local organization provides over a dozen scholarships to local schools in Dauphin County including Steelton-Highspire High School.  Every scholarship has different $amounts, deadlines, and requirements. Please stop in the guidance office for a scholarship packet.     The Americanism Essay Contest $50: February 15, 2020
    Students should write a 450-500 word essay on "How we can address the health and well-being of our veterans, military, and their families." Students will special needs, their word count should correspond with their grade level (check their cover sheet). Winners will receive $50 and a $50 donation will be made in the student's name to the Children of Warriors National President's Scholarship fund. 
     
    Pell Grant $29,000: Deadline February 27, 2020
    This scholarship is for highly motivated DREAMers who want nothing more than a college education but are unable to afford the cost.  They have no access to federal aid, limited access to state aid, and they sometimes face paying out of state tuition.  Click the link above for more details and to apply.
     
    American Legion Auxiliary Junior Member Loyalty Scholarship $2,500: Deadline March 1, 2020
    Candidates for this award shall have been Junior Members of the American Legion Auxiliary for 2017, 2018, and 2019.  They must have a paid membership for 2020 and continue their membership through their scholarship period**. The student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Please see the applications for more details and requirements. 
     
    American Legion Auxiliary Spirit of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members $5,000: Deadline March 1, 2020
    Candidates for this award shall have been Junior Members of the American Legion Auxiliary for 2017, 2018, and 2019.  They must have a paid membership for 2020 and continue their membership through their scholarship period**.     American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors National President's Scholarship $5,000: Deadline March 1, 2020
    Candidate should be the child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during eligibility dates April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918, or after December 7, 1941. Applicants must provide proof of 50 hours of community service.  Please see the application for more details.
     
    American Legion Auxiliary Non-Traditional Student Scholarships $2,000: Deadline March 1, 2020
    This scholarship is for a non-traditional student that is returning to the classroom after some period of time in which his/her formal education was interrupted. Must be a current, paid member.  Please download the application for more instructions including eligibility criteria. 
     
    The United Steelworkers (USW) Hugh Carcella Scholarship Program $4,000: Deadline March 15, 2020
    This scholarship is available to the son/daughter of a member of the United Steelworkers, District 10.  Applications may be obtained from their parent's participating local union office.  No application will be accepted unless properly signed by the President and Recording Secretary of the respective local union. SATs should be taken before January to include with the application.
     
    Epilepsy Association of Western and Central PA's Scholarship Program $1,000-$1,500: Deadline April 1, 2020
    Applicants must have a diagnosis of epilepsy/seizure disorder confirmed by a statement from the applicant's physician. The applicant must be a legal resident of Western or Central PA and provide proof of acceptance to a post-secondary academic or vocational program.  The applicant must also attend at least one of the EAWCP's Run/Walks in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Altoona, or Erie.  You can also pick up a copy of the application packet in the guidance office from Mrs. Minium.
     
    American Legion Auxiliary Department of Pennsylvania Past Department Presidents' Memorial Scholarship for Nursing $400 for 3 consecutive years: Deadline April 1, 2020
    The applicant must be a child or grandchild of a totally disabled or deceased veteran.  You must have met the entry requirements for a Nurse's Training School in Pennsylvania.  The award is $1,200 payable in $400 increments over 3 years.  Please see the applications for additional requirements.
     
    Irvin E. Herr Foundation Scholarship Award $1,750: Deadline April 30, 2020
    Please Mrs. Minium in the guidance office for an application.
     
    Future Environmental Leaders Scholarship $2,000: Deadline April 30, 2020
    The scholarship is open to high school seniors looking to pursue a post-secondary degree in an environmentally related program. PPL employees and members of their households are not eligible for the scholarship.
     
    Pennsylvania American Legion Scholarships: $500-$4,500: Varying deadlines
    Please go to the website to see at least 6 different scholarships from the American Legion.  Each scholarship has its own requirements, due dates, and award amount.  If you have any questions, you can contact the PA American Legion directly at 717-730-9100.
     
    Doctor Almo Sebastianelli Drum Corps Scholarship Fund $500: Deadline May 1, 2020
    This scholarship is available to a child or grandchild of a current or deceased Pennsylvania Legionnaire.  The applicant must be in a member of the high school band who will be going on to major in music in college. 
     
    Sergeant Philip German Memorial Scholarship $5,000: Deadline May 31, 2020
    The Sgt. Philip German Memorial Scholarship Foundation is providing scholarships for the education of needy children of veterans of the Commonwealth of PA who served in the Armed Services of the United States of America.  Please pick up an application in the guidance office with Mrs. Minium.
     
    BigSun Scholarship $500: Deadline June 19, 2020
    The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits.  All student-athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in or the capacity in which they participate.  Graduating seniors, please submit your entry online with the link above.
