The Steelton-Highspire School District contracts with Therabilties, Inc. for all related services. Services include student-specific evaluation and service delivery, screening, documentation, attendance at relevant team meetings, associated consultation to support educational personnel, and in-servicing training. The therapy staff function as team members who are housed in the school district during their days of service. This promotes communication and cooperation between the school therapists and other members of the school community.
In rare circumstances, psychological counseling may be a required related service as a part of a child’s IEP if this service is a provision of FAPE. If this was added as a related service in the IEP, this psychological counseling service would be at no cost to parents. If students require psychological counseling as a related service, and it is provided outside of the school setting, transportation is provided where necessary and at no cost to the parent.
