Superintendent

Dr. Mick Iskric, Jr.

Educational Background

I was born and raised in the Steelton (Harrisburg) area and I am a 1995 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School. After high school, I attended Penn State University and earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2000. I earned my Master of Education in Sports Management/Athletic Administration from Millersville University in 2007, earned my Principal Certificate from Temple University in 2009, and earned my Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania in 2015.  I earned my Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Education Administration & Leadership from Pennsylvania Western University (California University of Pennsylvania) in 2023.

Work Experience

I am currently in my eleventh year within the Steelton-Highspire School District.  Prior to becoming Superintendent, I served as Interim Superintendent and Assistant to the Superintendent at Steelton-Highspire School District. I also served as Building Principal at Steelton-Highspire Jr./Sr. High School.  Before coming to the Steelton-Highspire School District, I worked within the Central Dauphin School District for 12 years.   I worked at Central Dauphin East High School as an Assistant Principal for three years. Before becoming a principal, I taught physical education and strength and conditioning at Central Dauphin High School for nine years. I coached boy’s basketball for nine years, boy’s soccer for eight years, and girl’s soccer for three years.

Life

My wife, Andrea, is a Home/School Visitor for Central Dauphin School District and we reside in West Hanover Township with our daughters, Addison and Charley, and our three dogs, Boomer, Frankie, and Georgia. In my spare time, I like to hunt, fish, golf, and anything else sports related. I also like spending time with my family and traveling.

The Steelton Highspire School District is great and I am glad I have the opportunity to work here and help students reach their fullest potential possible. With the help of students, parents, and the staff, the Steelton-Highspire School District will continue to strive to achieve great things.
