Dr. Travis M. Waters has spent the past twenty years working in several Central Pennsylvania School Districts. His experiences include teaching social studies in both the Harrisburg and Steelton-Highspire School Districts. His administrative experience includes holding the positions of assistant principal and principal at both the Susquehanna Township School District and the Steelton-Highpsire School Districts. Most recently, he has served as assistant to the superintendent and acting superintendent of the Steelton-Highspire School District. Educationally, he earned a Bachelor of Art in political science from Cheyney University, a Master of Education in Teaching and Curriculum from the Pennsylvania State University and a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from Shippensburg University. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, studying African and African American history, playing basketball, and spending time with his family. He is married and has one one daughter. My name is Mick Iskric, Jr. and I am the Assistant to the Superintendent for the Steelton-Highspire School District.
I was born and raised in the Steelton (Harrisburg) area and I am a 1995 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School. After high school, I attended Penn State University and earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2000. I earned my Master of Education in Sports Management/Athletic Administration from Millersville University in 2007, earned my Principal Certificate from Temple University in 2009, and earned my Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania in 2015.
I am currently in my sixth year within the Steelton-Highspire School District. Prior to becoming Assistant to the Superintendent, I served as Building Principal at Steelton-Highspire Jr./Sr. High School. Before coming to the Steelton-Highspire School District, I worked within the Central Dauphin School District for 12 years. I worked at Central Dauphin East High School as an Assistant Principal for three years. Before becoming a principal, I taught physical education and strength and conditioning at Central Dauphin High School for nine years. I coached boy’s basketball for nine years, boy’s soccer for eight years, and girl’s soccer for three years.
My wife, Andrea, is a Home/School Visitor for Central Dauphin School District and we reside in West Hanover Township with our daughters, Addison and Charley, and our two dogs, Reggie and Boomer. In my spare time, I like to hunt, fish, golf, and anything else sports related. I also like spending time with my family and traveling.
The Steelton Highspire School District is great and I am glad I have the opportunity to work here and help students reach their fullest potential possible. With the help of students, parents, and the staff, the Steelton-Highspire School District will continue to strive to achieve great things.

I graduated from Steelton-Highspire High School in 1995 and attended IUP for undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Criminology. After deciding to pursue a career in education, I attended Temple University for my teaching certification/Masters of Education and Millersville University for my Supervisor of Special Education Certificate.During my years with Steel-High, I have been a learning support teacher, emotional support teacher, department head, softball coach, and district special education supervisor. After graduation, he attended The Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Slade graduated from Penn State in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration of Justice. He began working for Dauphin County Juvenile Probation in 1993.He worked as a School-Based Probation Officer in the Harrisburg School District for one year before being transferred to Steelton-Highspire in 1995. He enrolled in Wilson College and received his teaching certificate in 2001. He started teaching at the Steelton-Highspire High School that same year. In 2006 he received his Masters of Education from the California University of Pennsylvania. In 2007 Mr. Slade started his career as an Assistant Principal.He was the High School Principal from 2010 to 2012. He became the Director of Student Services in 2013 and Athletic Director in 2014. Mr. Slade was also an assistant coach for the Roller football team from 1999 to 2014. Mr. Slade will be returning to coaching for the 2016 season. I am responsible for all technology in the district including but not limited to servers, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, electronic whiteboards, website design, student information systems(Power School), state reporting(PIMS), business systems, printers, copiers, and networking equipment in the school.I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and several specialty certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, and Apple products. I enjoy working with computers and find them essential to the enrichment of the educational experience.
