It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Principal of Steelton-Highspire Elementary School. My goal as an administrator is to help teachers better educate and develop our students into life-long learners. It is a blessing to be a member of an experienced staff that works so hard at giving each student an outstanding educational experience. We are committed to creating a safe and positive learning environment where our team promotes and models responsible, respectful behavior in order to provide each student with the best learning opportunity.
Together we will work diligently to reach new heights while pursuing academic, social, and emotional growth. I look forward to an outstanding 2020-21 school year.
Educational Background:
In 2007 I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Elementary Education from Hofstra University. I began my teaching career in New York City and then moved back to Harrisburg where I taught 5th grade for three years. I then decided to further my education at Cabrini College where I received my Masters in Education while obtaining my K-12th grade principal certification. Since 2012 I have worked for the Steelton-Highspire School District. I have taught 5th grade, 6th-grade science, and 4th-6th grade emotional support learning. It has been a pleasure being a part of the Roller family and I look forward to many more years to come!Elementary Assistant Principal (717)-704-3800It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself, Samantha Neidlinger, as the new Assistant Principal at Steelton-Highspire Elementary School. I am so excited to continue this journey together to make SHES a place we can all be proud of. Some of my goals include addressing the social-emotional needs of our students, using data to drive instruction, and supporting staff to create the best possible learning opportunities for students. Let’s work together to make the 2020-2021 school year a success!
I graduated from Steel-High in 2009. I attended HACC and then graduated from Penn State Harrisburg in 2013 with my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Elementary Education. In 2014, I began teaching here at SHES as a 2nd-grade teacher. During this time I completed my Master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum and obtained my principal certification through Shippensburg University. I am also lucky enough to have three beautiful children that keep me very busy at home.
It has been my greatest joy to come back home and serve the students of our wonderful communities. Once a roller, always a roller!
