    A little about Mrs. Haney: Hi. I am the eighth grade physical science teacher here at Steel High. Many of you may have already met my one daughter, Kaitlyan and have already heard stories about my husband Joe. I have taught at Steel-High for two years now. I received my Master’s in Education from Drexel University last year. Previously, I worked as a chemist testing everything from water to coal to medicines. I received my BS in Science in 1997 from Waynesburg College. I worked for almost ten years before teaching. So, I tend to relate a lot of the science that I teach to real life experience. I also use outside resources such as Penn State and Gettysburg College Advancing Science. (see the links below). I hope to make students realize just how much fun science really is.

    8th Grade Physical Science Curriculum

    The 8th grade physical science curriculum includes an introduction to both chemistry and physics. The students will perform a variety of experiments and partake in various demonstrations.
