4th - 6th Grade Counselor

    Jennifer Rash, MA, NCC

    Keep Calm

I received my Master's in School Counseling in 2013 and then spent four years working for Pressley Ridge as a school-based therapist before taking on the role of School Counselor for the Steelton-Highspire School District.

My hope is that students will have a positive educational experience at Steelton-Highspire and that they will be ready for college and/or a career when they graduate.

So what does a school counselor do, you may wonder

I teach classroom lessons on things like developing a Growth Mindset, how to recognize emotions and learn to cope with the difficult ones, understanding and accepting what they can/can't control, and how too resolve problems in life.

I facilitate Group Counseling to address Social Emotional Learning,  sometimes focusing on such things  as Grief & Loss and Bullying.

I meet with students when they are having a problem and need someone to talk to.

I help students resolve peer conflicts.

I work with teachers and staff (as well as parents) to help students be successful.

I am always open to listening to parents, teachers, and students.

    Don't hesitate to contact me.
