• New Student Registration 

    Kindergarten Registration is Open! 

    Welcome kindergarten families! Your child must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2023. No exceptions are made to this policy. 

    To register your child for kindergarten, please complete the online registration using this link for Power School Enrollment. For additional directions on how to complete this process, please visit the Registration Resources tab which includes a link for registration directions. Our district provides full-day kindergarten, and both breakfast and lunch are provided.

    Once we have received your online submission, you will need to upload the required documents, email them to pupilservices@shsd.k12.pa.us, or bring them to the Pupil Services office, located in the district administration office.

    The uploading or emailing of documents is preferred to ensure the most efficient registration process. If you are unable to submit documents electronically, please contact us at the email address listed above to schedule a time to submit your documentation. The registration process will not be complete until we receive and verify this documentation.

    Documents required for registration:

    ★ Student's Birth Certificate

    ★ Proof of Residency (Lease, Mortgage, or Tax Bill)

         -If using a lease, it must be signed by both landlord and tenant and include dates of the leasing agreement.  

    ★ Immunization Records

    Additional Registration Information 

    • WHO CAN REGISTER- The biological parent, adoptive parent (court paperwork needed), or court-appointed guardian may enroll a student (court order signed and dated by a judge). Notarized temporary guardianship documents are not considered court orders and require 1302 approval. If you are in this situation, please email us, and we will assist you in the completion of the 1302 process. 
    • RE-ENROLLMENT- Students who were formally enrolled in the SHSD are considered new students when re-enrolling. if you are registering multiple students, you will want to submit the online registration separately for each student. 
    • MULTIPLE OCCUPANCY AFFIDAVITS- If you are currently residing with a friend or relative in the district and cannot provide proof of residency in your own name, we will need you to complete a Multiple Occupancy Affidavit form. The Multiple Occupancy form can be found under Registration Resources. Parents/guardians should contact the student service department if the student's living situation changes and provide updated proof of residency.
