Schoology Parent Account Setup
A Schoology Parent Account allows you to stay informed about your child's classes, assignments, grades, and important school updates.
Please Note: Parent accounts are view-only. Parents cannot participate in courses, submit assignments, or view information about other students. Schoology Parent accounts are different from PowerSchool Parent accounts, and they are two separate systems that cannot be linked but you can use the same email in both if you want.
Step 1: Create Your Parent Account
- Reach out to your child’s teacher for a Schoology parent access code.
- Go to https://app.schoology.com/register.php
- Select Parent.
- Enter the Parent Access Code provided by your child's school.
- Complete the account registration process.
- Verify your email address if prompted.
- Click your name in the upper-right corner and select your child to see their classes.
Step 2: Add Additional Children
If you have more than one child in the district:
- Click your name in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Choose Add Child.
- Enter the additional child's Parent Access Code.
You can switch between children and monitor each student's information from your parent account.
Step 3: Set Up Notifications
To stay informed:
- Click your name and select Settings.
- Choose Notifications.
- Turn on:
- Daily or Weekly Parent Digest
- Course Updates
- Assignment Notifications
- Overdue Assignment Notifications
These alerts can help you monitor upcoming assignments, missing work, and course activity.
What Parents Can Do in Schoology
- View courses your child is enrolled in
- See upcoming assignments and events
- Monitor grades and teacher feedback (if enabled)
- Receive daily or weekly course summaries
- Access all courses your child is enrolled in throughout their time in the district

Use the Calendar to view:
- Upcoming assignments
- Due dates
- School events
- Course activities
Review Student Activity
Monitor:
- Recent course updates
- Assignment submissions
- Teacher feedback
- Grades (when available)
Start Conversations at Home
Ask your child:
- What assignments are coming up?
- Are any assignments marked late or missing?
- How do you keep track of your work?
- What feedback have teachers provided?
These conversations can help students build organization and time-management skills.
